About the Item
Plaster Sculpture “Étude Guernica – La Femme qui Pleure,” after Pablo Picasso, Vallauris, France, circa 1960
Expressive mid-century plaster bust titled “Étude Guernica – La Femme qui Pleure,” produced in Vallauris, France circa 1960 after Pablo Picasso. A powerful homage to the weeping-woman motif associated with Guernica, mounted on a wooden base.
Evocative plaster sculpture titled “Étude Guernica – La Femme qui Pleure,” created after Pablo Picasso in Vallauris, France, circa 1960. The piece bears an incised cartouche reading “ÉTUDE GUERNICA – LA FEMME QUI PLEURE – Picasso Vallauris,” indicating subject and place of production. The dramatic profile and incised detailing channel the anguish of Picasso’s Weeping Woman/Guernica imagery, translating it into a striking three-dimensional study.
Presented on a warm wooden base, the sculpture’s lively surface and hand-tooled texture amplify its modernist character and mid-century origins. A compelling object for collectors of 20th-century art, Post-War modernism, and works in the manner of Picasso, ideal for galleries and curated interiors seeking a bold focal point with historical resonance.
