About the Item
Very visually pleasing and appealing totum sculpture from the hand of Dutch artist Rob van 't Zelfde, made in the 1970's. The sculpture is made out of Elm wood and is slightly tapered towards the top. Like TOTEM poles tell a story, this sculpture in particular is a representation of the transformation from a solid form into a liquid, whereas the liquid form transcends into recognizeable shapes such as persons holding and lifting each other or a bird. Most importantly it is a beautiful and well made sculpture that deserves to be cherished and would make a great addition to any interior or private collection.
Visual artist R. van 't Zelfde (The Hague 1949), studied at the Academy of Fine arts in The Hague, and created similar TOTEM sculptures throughout his career.
