Abstract bird form an original Kaija Aarikka desktop sculpture manufactured by Aarikka in Finland in 1970s.
the purity of her lines is a unique design characteristic of Kaija Aarikka's work.
Aarikka co-founded together with her husband the eponymous design bureau Aarikka in 1954, to design and manufacture initially wooden buttons and decorative and household items, later expanding also into personal accessories, dress jewellery and giftware. She worked there as the firm's head designer and artistic director for most of her career, taking over management duties and chairing the Board of Directors from 1977.
