About the Item
VALDIVIA is a sand-cast bronze sculptural object representative of the significance of religion within Latin American culture. It is an abstraction study; that combines the Virgin Mary with the Venus of Valdivia, representative of fertility and motherhood in the pre-Columbian communities of the Ecuadorian coast.
ÍCONOS is a creative and ethnographic exploration of the DNA and ICONS that constitute the Ecuadorian identity. The collection is a family of functional and sculptural objects based on the abstraction of Andean iconography and archetypes. It is an aesthetic exercise representative of the Andean region: its soul, materials, and talent.

Alejandro Moyano (ANDEAN)
Alejandro’s focus is on developing social design projects that mark an immediate difference in contemporary issues. By having a familial background in Medicine and by being born in a developing country, his main objective is reaching solutions that directly impact an overlooked demographic’s needs. The form of the designs is shaped by his close relation to Ecuador’s traditional methods and aesthetics, influenced by his experience in furniture design and love of woodworking.

Whimsical Bronze Sculpture by Francisco del Toro, Mexico, 1992
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Expressive and evocative bronze sculpture by Francisco del Toro (Mexican, Guerrero, 20th century), signed Del Toro ’92. This one-of-a-kind piece showcases del Toro’s mastery in merging organic abstraction with emotional figuration, embodying both movement and introspection through its fluid, surreal form.
The elongated figure, perched on a solid stone base, reveals a captivating dialogue between smooth, polished surfaces and rugged, textured elements — a hallmark of del Toro’s sculptural language. The patinated bronze transitions in tone from deep forest green to earthy bronze, emphasizing the interplay between form, texture, and light.
Del Toro’s work often explores the human spirit’s resilience and transformation, with this particular sculpture exuding both strength and vulnerability. The head, seemingly emerging from raw material, evokes a timeless and almost mythological presence, while the sensuous curvature of the body connects to themes of fertility and creation found in Mexican modernist sculpture.
An exceptional example of Mexican contemporary bronze art, ideal for collectors of Latin American sculpture...
