The two abstracted figures in this cast aluminium piece by Israeli sculptor Aharon Bezalel b.1926 are very evocative. One seated, one standing, both stripped of their individual identity, they appear as quiet sentinels
Sharing characteristics with the work of both Henry Moore and Giacometti, these figures are simultaneously monolithic and lean and airy. The textured surface of the aluminum contrasts the smooth polished areas with dark rough passages.
The piece is signed and dated on the side and is in excellent original condition.
