A Monumental and Life-Sized 19th Century Italian Pair of Patinated Bronze Greyhound Dogs on Stepped Marble Plinths. Each dog is naturalistically seen standing on a pair of stepped, hand-carved, and hand-polished Italian multi-specimen marble plinths. The dogs are each hand-chased and hand-chiseled with stunning precision from cast bronze, and further patinated with a rich dark brown patina. These are truly immense in size, at over five feet, it is very difficult to produce objects from hardstones and cast patinated bronze in this size and the workmanship of the pieces becomes extraordarily difficult to navigate and complete.
