About the Item

19th century cast bronze figure of a hunting dog pointing by Pierre Jules Mene. This is a lovely bronze which has acquired a gorgeous patina over the years. The figure is a beautiful and graceful hunting dog in a pointing position. The details of the casting are very crisp and realistic. P J Mene was one of the most famous casters of Animalia in the 19th century in France. He captured the attention of the world in Paris and started his own foundry in the early 19th century. This is a lovely statue and will look superb in any setting in which it is placed.
