About the Item

This sculpture of greyhound from the late 19th century is crafted in bronze and displays fine detailing of the dog’s muscular structure. The dog is standing on a base that mimics a rough terrain and is mounted on a marble base. The dog is shown in a proud stance, with a collar around its neck. It was made in the style of famous French sculptor Pierre-Jules Mêne, who is considered one of the pioneers of animal sculpture in the nineteenth century.
