An exceptional, fine and impressive contemporary cast sterling silver stirrup cup modelled in the form of a fox's head; an addition to our diverse silver drinking vessels collection. This exceptional contemporary sterling silver stirrup cup has been realistically modelled in the form of a fox's head. The surface of this cast cup incorporates details to reproduce the fox's snarling facial features and fur. The rim of this fox stirrup cup is encircled with an applied moulded border. This exceptional stirrup cup has a gilded interior. Condition This antique fox stirrup cup is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Dimensions Height 7.7cm/3". Length from rim to tip of ear 4.6cm/1.8". Diameter of rim 3.7cm/1.5". Weight 6.1 troy ounces/190g. Maker: James R Biggins. Date: 2012. Origin: Sheffield, England.
