About the Item

Aldo Londi for Bitossi – Rimini Blue “Prezzemolo” Ceramic Dove, Italy, 1960s Rare Rimini Blue “Prezzemolo” ceramic dove designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, handmade in Italy circa 1960s. Londi, Bitossi’s artistic director from 1946 to 1976, was known for merging traditional Italian ceramic craftsmanship with modernist forms and experimental glazing. His Rimini Blue series, introduced in the late 1950s, is one of the company’s most recognizable lines, celebrated for its vivid cobalt and turquoise palette and intricate, hand-incised patterns. This “Prezzemolo” decor example displays finely textured geometric motifs that create subtle variations in glaze tone and highlight the sculptural contours of the dove form. Pristine vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Dimensions: 20 cm total length × 13 cm depth × 10 cm height (approx. 7.9 in × 5.1 in × 3.9 in) Handmade in Montelupo Fiorentino, Italy; signed to underside. A substantial and well-preserved work, desirable to serious Bitossi collectors and well-suited for mid-century or contemporary interiors. We specialized in antique and 20th century ceramics, glass and objects, like lamps, side tables, stools, mirrors, etc. Please check out our storefront ¨Gorgeous Vases¨ for more items in this style.
