About the Item
This antique cast Continental silver sculpture is hallmarked by an unknown maker, but is presumed to have been made in Europe, likely Austria or Italy, and done in a very realistic Art Deco style. The sculpture is a very well executed study of a crouched and fierce wolf with a stance of being ready to attack. The study is done in a very realistic style showing considerable detail to the fur, face and paws. The sculpture is possibly hallmarked, which is illegible, by the maker with a small cartouche on the bottom and is clearly marked "800" on the underside of one paw to identify the silver content.
