Art Deco Panther sculpture in beautiful rare metallic green color marked and signed "SC France", Saint Clément France Factories. The piece is characterized by its exquisite craftsmanship, marked and numbered 185 on the base.
Panthers were a favored motif in Art Deco design, symbolizing grace and strength, and this piece exemplifies that aesthetic beautifully.
Saint-Clément was founded by Jacques Chambrette in 1758 and quickly became a highly respected manufacturer of earthenware and a favored supplier for Marie Antoinette. Nowadays, Saint-Clément is the only earthenware factory still active in France.
