About the Item
A majestic illustration of an elephant raising high his trunk.
The sculpture is made in the style of "Irénée Rochard" (1906-1984).
It's not signed but this representation is well-known as one of her prefered.
The facial features and the muscles are worked out in great detail.
The original green patina gives the decorative object its historic charm.
A very known material in the Art Deco is "Régule" (a French tin-alloy), it is used for this beautiful elephant, too.
Both tusks are not made of ivory. They are in Regule, just ivory-colored!
This beautiful pachyderm is standing on an oval base in black marble.
