About the Item
Articulated Spanish silver lobster.
This Art is called jizai okimono (which can be translated as decorative object that moves) are realistic figures of animals made of steel, copper, Shibuchi (a silver and copper alloy) and shakudo (copper and gold alloy), their bodies and Limbs are articulated, and move like those of real animals, among these ornamental figures there are models of birds, fish, snakes, lobsters, crabs and insects, there are also imaginary animals such as dragons.
The art dates back to the 18th century, and was born among the artisans and blacksmiths who were dedicated to the manufacture of armor, who had to look for an alternative due to the low demand for these goods. There are different levels of difficulty, with lobster considered the highest of all.
