19th century Austrian cold painted bronze hound fashioned as a paper clip, mounted on a walnut base. These were whimsical pieces that were made int the late Victorian era and early Edwardian era, as at that time, people were fascinated by their pets. They were often used to hold letters or notes in an office or bedroom.
