Bird Animal Stone Sculpture - Carved Limestone Bookends - France 1970s
Gorgeous stone sculpture depicting a bird (most probably a pigeon) made of limestone. Can also be used as a bookend.
Signed at the back, with the initials "I.F".
Nicely carved with soft, rounded shapes that give the bird a plump appearance.
A beautiful decorative object for a shelf, it can also serve as a bookend in a library or as a paperweight on a desk.
Lovely patina, with some marks and scratches consistent with age. Two small chips to note on the front feet (see the last two close-up photos).
