This small and hand-carved bear sculpture is a great example of the Black Forest craftsmanship in early 20th century, Switzerland. Anyone who is capable of carving such fine details into a smaller size sculpture such as this standing bear can truly call himself an artisan. The details in the face and mouth are truly wonderful and the artist even managed to give this bear a life-like facial expression. Both the bear and the little glass vase are in excellent condition.
