About the Item

Limited-edition porcelain bird grouping by Boehm Porcelain, depicting ptarmigan in winter plumage perched on snow-covered branches. Finely modeled with detailed feather texture and subtle hand-painted accents. The grouping depicts ptarmigan in winter plumage. Ptarmigan are alpine game birds known for turning completely white in winter, and they were a favorite subject of Edward Marshall Boehm. The rounded bodies, feathered feet, and snowy branch base are all characteristic of Boehm’s ptarmigan models. Marked to underside “Boehm, Limited Edition, Ptarmigan, 463E, Made in U.S.A.” Produced mid-20th century. A classic example of Boehm’s nature-inspired porcelain, ideal for collectors and refined interiors.
