About the Item
Gilt bookends of two tropical fish on marble bases circa 1930. They are patinated in an interesting combination of silver bodies with gold tails and fins. The bodies of the fish, naturally, are made with a carved “fish scale pattern” that is actually known in wallpaper, fabric, and graphic design as “Art Deco Fish Scales.”
