This lovely and slightly mysterious dodo bird figurine captures the charm of the iconic flightless, extinct creature with wonderful character and presence. Cast in solid brass, the figure has developed a beautiful, naturally aged patina that highlights its sculptural details and mid-century appeal. Made in the 1960s and found at an estate sale in Nuremberg, Germany, it is an unmarked piece, typical of small artisan brass castings of the period.
The dodo stands firmly on its rounded base, giving it a sturdy feel and a pleasing weight, ideal for display on a shelf, desk, or within a curated collection. In very good as-found vintage condition, it shows only light wear consistent with age. A charming and characterful addition to any brass or bird-themed collection.
