Description:
Figurative sculpture depicting a bison, made of bronze. The animal is caught with its head lowered and the weight of its body projected forward, a compositional solution that returns a feeling of restrained strength and controlled movement.
The rendering of the coat is more wavy in the front area, where the mass of the fleece is defined by an irregular and more pronounced patterning, while the rest of the body has smoother and more continuous surfaces. The dark patina of the bronze, with slight tonal variations, helps to highlight the contrast between the different textures and reinforce the volumetric reading of the figure.
The sculpture is placed on a dark marble rectangular base.
