About the Item
Inspired by many years in the bush spent in close study of my Africa's magnificent wildlife, my sculpture endeavours to pay tribute to Africa's wildlife.
This elephant sculpture was born out of a real and moving event. I was commissioned to sculpt a herd of elephants that had been relocated to a game reserve in South Africa—a moment of both triumph and transition for these majestic animals. The piece features four adult elephants and two calves, walking together as one unit. It captures not only their physical presence but also the emotional bond and unspoken communication that exists within a herd.

My art is inspired by Africa and its magnificent wildlife. Elephants, in particular, have always held a powerful presence for me—symbols of strength, memory, and family. In creating this piece, I wanted to honour their resilience and the quiet grace with which they navigate both the wild and the upheavals caused by human intervention. Every fold, gesture, and footfall in bronze is a tribute to their journey and the enduring spirit of the African wilderness.
Each piece is sculpted, cast, chased and finished individually by hand by myself.
After receipt of your order the casting of your edition takes place in my 'Black Dog Foundry'. Delivery is approx. 7 to 9 weeks after placement of your.
