About the Item

Decorative sculpture depicting two pointers in a concentrated hunting stance " takes point", Executed in dark brown patinated bronze. The sculpture is of high quality, showing great naturalism and a fine sense of the dogs’ anatomy and movement, which is characteristic of Lauritz Jensen’s work. Signed “Lauritz Jensen” and dated 1897, and bearing the bronze foundry mark of Lauritz Rasmussen. About the artist: Lauritz Jensen (1859–1935) was a Danish sculptor, particularly known for his naturalistic animal sculptures. His works from the late 19th century are distinguished by their lively depiction of animals in motion and demonstrate great technical skill and powers of observation.
