The Foo Dogs possess a playful, lively appearance, each perched on its individual squared base. The ornaments are meticulously carved, showcasing remarkable attention to detail in their facial and bodily features. Foo Dogs, also known as Chinese guardian lions, are iconic symbols of protection and strength in Chinese culture. Traditionally depicted in pairs, these majestic statues are characterized by their striking features, including flowing manes and wide-open mouths, symbolizing their role as guardians of the place they adorn. The female Foo Dog, representing 'yin,' holds a lion cub beneath her paw, signifying compassion and nurture.
