About the Item
Rare antique pair of dog figurines made of hand-painted porcelain, so-called 'poodle dogs' or whore dogs, originating from the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau period, Germany, late 19th century.
The dogs have a large blue bow around their necks and each has a basket in their mouths containing puppies and kittens that are gilded, the figurines are numbered 7526 / 7826 on the back.
Both figurines are in excellent antique condition considering the material and age, the right dog has a small chip in the base, the gilding of both figurines has faded, but nothing disturbing, check the photos for more details!
