About the Item

Decorate a ranch house, mountain lodge, or hunt cabin with this beautifully executed early 20th-century animal sculpture. Hand-carved in France circa 1920 from a single block of fruitwood, the charming composition features two bears, one seated, one nestled closely beside it, rendered in a warm, character-filled style typical of rustic folk carving. Each bear displays a gentle, expressive face and finely incised detailing around the muzzle, paws, and coat, while the natural fissures and grain of the wood enhance the sculpture’s organic presence. Resting on its original circular base with a wonderfully aged, mellow walnut-toned patina, the piece remains in very good condition commensurate with age and use. A delightful accent for a study, library, or nature-themed interior. Measures: 12.5" diameter × 12" height.
