A fine rare vintage English staffordshire great dane hunting dog porcelain stirrup cup produced by Royale Stratford, in England, circa 1980. Acquired from a collector's estate in England. This charming stirrup cup is in the form of a Great Dane dog's head, hand painted with beautiful details and with a silverplate collar. As part of an English tradition, a stirrup cup is a "parting cup" given to riding companions while in the stirrups, usually with Port or Sherry, before embarking on a foxhunt. It's perfect for the collector and would also make a wonderful gift for the equestrian or hunting enthusiast.
