Art Deco Bronze Panther by Rochard,
A striking French Art Deco bronze sculpture of a prowling panther by renowned artist Irénée Rochard (1906–1984), dating to the 1920s. Cast in bronze and finished in a rich verdigris green patina, this piece captures the tension and grace of the panther mid-stride with a stylised yet powerful Art Deco silhouette.
Signed ROCHARD to the base, the sculpture rests on a stepped black marble plinth, creating a strong contrast that enhances the patina of the bronze. The fluidity of the animal’s form is typical of Rochard’s ability to balance naturalism with Deco stylisation — a hallmark of his celebrated animalier work.
