About the Item

A large and powerful carving attributed to the Senoufo Tribe of West Africa. The Sculpture represents an adult Hornbill with ridged crest and upright stance standing guard over it’s much smaller young. Strongly carved and with an old distressed painted finish in pale Red, Black, White and Dark Blue. Dimensions: H. 51", Depth 16', W. 13" Condition: Please see detail photos. Various expected and enhancing signs of age include a distressed painted finish with losses, chips and irregularities as well as a few stable age splits being mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is strong and Sculptural.
