Beautiful and rare mid century panther statue made of papier maché, filled with straw and covered with black leather, yellow glass eyes and white plastic teeth, completely in the style of Liberty of London, circa 1950.
This statue has very nice proportions and details, the muscles are beautifully and accurately depicted, typical are the yellow glass eyes, the whiskers are missing, the whole has a very nice age patina. Liberty of London released various leather animals in different sizes in the 1950s, including giraffes, elephants, lions, panthers, rhinoceroses, hippos, dromedaries and many other animal species. These fantastic statues have a high collector's value and are very sought after.
This panther is in good vintage condition, with signs of age and use in accordance with the age, check the photos for more details!
