About the Item
1938 -
Mr. Vallien originally from Sweden had brief employment with a small Los Angeles ceramic factory in the 1960's.
While there his talents were recognized and valued, and soon after, he was able to get his own studio where his creative endeavors flourished.
This sculpture is a fine example of his free form sculptural style during those years in LA.
It's a hand built natural stoneware stylized form with blue glaze inside the head socket which appears to fit a candle.
Stamped with hallmarks and signed "Vallien".
Original condition.
No damage or repairs.
