Radiant and adorable Murano Art Glass Dog Sculpture Figurine attributed to Seguso, Barbini or Cenedese glass factories. Hand blow art glass of the of the finest caliber crafted using the sommerso technique combining violet alexandrite glass and a rich ruby red. The colors are truly superb and seem to glow from within. I deal for the discerning collector of mid century modern italian glass.
The sommerso technique is a Murano glassblowing method where layers of colored molten glass are submerged or dipped into other layers without mixing, creating a striking, multi-layered effect with sharp contrasts. This ancient technique was developed in Venice around the 1930s and gained significant global recognition in the 1950s, often featuring a transparent outer layer encasing one or more vibrant, inner colored layers. The final pieces can have a shimmering, three-dimensional quality that appears to change with the light and viewing angle.
