About the Item
Beautiful and large, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso double fish Italian art glass aquarium block sculpture. Documented to the Arte Vetraria Muranese company (A.Ve.M.). Similars are published in the company book, and dated to the 1950s. There is a yellow, red, and dark amethyst purple fish, and a darker amethyst purple fish, both are blowing bubbles and swimming among algae. They also have copper aventurine flecks within, that catches the light. The aquarium is made with 3 very thick layers of glass sandwiched together. Would make a great display piece on any desk, side table or credenza. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. There is a pontil ark on the side, added photo as a request (see last photo). Measures 8 1/2" long x 6" tall x 2 1/8" wide.

Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso soft transparent champagne with a hint of purple Italian art glass fish on base sculpture. Documented to designer Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso, circa 1950s. Published in his book (see photo), model 6180, and a later model number 6913 is in the same shape. The fish has little blue murine eyes, with white Latticino ribbons on the fins and tail. It is balanced on a clear glass base. Would make a great display piece on any dresser, coffee table, or display cabinet. Mid-century era. Would make a great addition to any Nautical, Marine / Ocean theme room. Measures: 10 5/8" tall x 6 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide. Last photo shows other colors currently available in the gallery.
