A super cool and well crafted art glass opaline octopus sculpture by Michael Hopko, circa 1990s. The sculpture is made of white and clear blown glass and measures a substantial 10.5"W x 11"D x 4.5"H. The piece is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and is signed on the underside. Great looking piece! #5050
Michael Hopko’s background in glass began in 1990 as an art student at Shasta College. He started off in ceramics and fell in love with glass when he started taking the class. After college he worked as an apprentice glass blower with several different glass artists in California. An avid fisherman since the age of three, Michael's passion for fishing led him to create a line of glass fish, like the ones he's caught for many years. Michael's beautiful hand-blown glass octopus sculptures, game fish and turtles capture the motion and color of nature's creatures. Hopko has long been celebrated for his signature hand-blown glass octopus sculptures, known for their vibrant color palettes and lifelike fluidity. As his artistry has evolved, so has his portfolio.
