Commissioned from E.F. Caldwell by Larz and Isabel Anderson ('she wrote "the great sea horse" a fairy tale from which the quotes are depicted in the sculptures, they were commissioned for their home in Washington D.C. now housing "the society of the Cincinatti" a pre civil war fraternity.
