About the Item
This pair of large terracotta horse busts from Italy measures over two feet tall and has excellent proportions. Dating to circa 1950, the terracotta has a wonderful high sheen, true white glaze that accentuates the detailed musculature and structure of each horse. The contours of the cheeks, the slightly open mouths, and the lively manes all suggest a sense of realistic movement. A perfect decorative accessory for any animal lover, these large glazed horse busts can be placed on a mantel, console, or sofa table in just about any room of the house.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Good condition. Commensurate craquelure to the glaze, with some areas of complete losses, revealing the terracotta beneath. Fleabites and light nicks. One horse has minor losses to the tips of the mane. Very light buildup.
