Large pair of mid 20th century Indonesian salt glazed decoration dogs circa 1950.
Know in english as the lion dogs and used to symbolise guarding important entrances and buildings with their origin's coming from buddhism.
Rare pair of 20th century salt glaze dog statues.
We are putting these down as 1950 but they could be earlier.
Glazed with greens, yellows and reds. These are a pair and with a slight dimension difference it indicates that they are hand made and not from a mould.
Losses and flaking to glaze and colour, which is photographed.
