About the Item
This pair of vintage solid brass toned roadrunner sculptures likely date to the mid-20th century and feature strikingly realistic detail and craftsmanship. Each bird is uniquely posed-one with its head lowered in a stalking position, the other mid-stride-showcasing the dynamic movement and alert posture characteristic of the roadrunner. The surface is deeply textured with hand-tooled featherwork, crested heads, and long, fanned tails.
The bases are cast in irregular organic forms to mimic natural terrain, adding visual depth and stability. These figures are cast from solid brass and are substantial in weight, making them suitable as bookends or standalone decorative sculptures. The undersides display rawcasting marks and.areas of oxidation and ver digris, typical of age and authentic patina.
A sculptural addition to a desert modern, Southwestern or eclectic interior, these brass toned roadrunners are both decorative and collectible.
