About the Item
A charming pair of decorative silver plate geese or mallard ducks, made in Spain in the twentieth century.
The geese are very finely modelled with excellent details to the faces, feathers, and feet. Given their weight – a total of 2kg / 4.4lb for the two pieces – they are made of bronze that has then been finished with a thick layer of silver plate to give them a beautiful lustre.
On the underside of each are stamps for Almazan, the excellent quality manufacturing house based in Spain who created items for Asprey as well as for the luxury Spanish brand Valenti. An identical pair to these geese sold at Christie’s London in 2006.
