About the Item

A pair of modernist horse figurines were hand made in Tonala, Mexico, in modernist style with short legs, long bodies, and expressive heads, and are hand painted in typical Tonala style, but with different designs. Both figurines have hollow bodies with openings that allow them to be used as planters or ashtrays. Both figurines were created and signed by the same artist; please note slight differences in size that are normal for the hand formed pottery pieces. The larger pink figurine is decorated with abstract large flowers and leaves design, and the smaller blue one - with abstract blue flower garlands and butterflies motif. Ceramic bodies are fully glazed, but the bottoms of the feet are left unglazed.
