Superb patinated bronze sculptural composition by A. Plisnier of two Fennec foxes huddling together manufactured and smelted by the Gorini Frères Foundry of Poitiers. French Art Deco, 1920s.
Beautiful work typical of the bestiary sculptures of the art deco period found in the representations of Edouard Marcel Sandoz, Irenée Rochard and Louis Fontinelle amongst others.
Signed by the artist and foundry.
In good condition. Slight oxidation of time.

The Gorini Foundry has worked with other notable artists such as Adolfo and Ugo Cipriani. They were primarily a silversmith and jewellery foundry who worked between Poitiers and Paris circa 1880-1935. The few sculptural pieces they produced are testaments to the skill of these metal craftsmen.
