Hand-carved by Indigenous Wauja artisans from the Xingu region in Brazil, this remarkable sculpture-bench represents a two-headed bird, a spiritual figure in their cosmology. Made from Piranheira wood, the piece is painted using traditional natural pigments extracted from "jenipapo" (Genipa americana), "urucum" (Bixa orellana), and finely ground snail shell.
