About the Item
A scarce Bohemian Curt Schlevogt art deco Ingrid tinted glass zebra designed by renowned ceramicist and graphic artist Vally Wieselthier (Austrian, 1895 – 1945) and dating from around 1936. The crystal glass zebra sculpture stands raised on an oval shaped thick polished base and portrays the Zebra with one front leg raised in a defensive pose. The sculpture combines matte frosted elements with raised polished stripes and is a very stylish and well-presented piece. More commonly found in clear untinted glass this is a less common variant and a wonderful glass sculpture to add to any serious collection. The figure is marked with molded initials for Vally Wieselthier.
