Moreau Mathurin
Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912) was a French sculptor of the academic style. Born in Dijon, he was renowned for his sculptures exhibited at the Salon, where he received a medal of honor in 1897. In addition to his artistic career, he was named mayor of the 19th arrondissement of Paris, and a street was named in his honor.

Mathurin Moreau came from a family of sculptors; his father was Jean-Baptiste-Louis-Joseph Moreau. His brothers, Hippolyte and Auguste Moreau, were also sculptors.
Artistic Career:
Moreau first exhibited at the Salon in 1848. His work was recognized with a prestigious medal of honor at the Salon in 1897.
Notable Works:
Among his most notable works is the Fountain of the Four Continents, whose sculptures were later distributed throughout the city.
Legacy:
His appointment as mayor of the 19th arrondissement of Paris and the dedication of a street in his honor are a testament to his impact on the city.
