About the Item
Mid-20th-century bust of Lucius Verus, a Roman co-emperor who ruled alongside his adoptive brother Marcus Aurelius from 161 AD until his death in 169 AD.
The bust is a reinterpretation of a marble specimen from the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Lucius Verus was sent to the East to lead military operations against the Parthians, and the war was successfully ended in 166 AD.
Made of plaster, very heavy.
In very good condition.
