20th century Chinese carved stone head sculpture of Guanyin mounted on a custom wood stand. Guanyin (Quan Yin), the East Asian bodhisattva of compassion is a widely beloved figure in Chinese culture and is revered by people of various faiths across East Asia. A well carved work rendered in fine detail portraying a gentle, meditative expression and defining the intricacies of facial features and the elaborate headdress. The custom fitted trapezoid form wood stand aesthetically complements the sculpture with its clean lines and proportion balancing the piece's overall presentation. It displays an affixed brass character representation for "Buddha."
