About the Item

This vintage 19th century work of art is an exceptionally detailed richly patinated bronze sculpture in the Art Nouveau style. It represents the goddess Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, awakening from her earthly sleep. Her head is adorned with a floral headband. The bust is mounted on a scrolled platform base and is signed J. Rispal dated 1891. 22 1/2" tall x 13 1/2" wide x 12 3/4" deep Condition: very good, Medium: Bronze, Originality: Original, Style: Art Nouveau, region of origin: Europe, placement: table, artist: Rispal, color: brown, size: medium (up to 36in.), height (inches) 22 1/2, width (inches): 13 1/2, type: statue, features: signed, quantity type: single-piece work, subject: busts, date of creation: 1800-1899.
