About the Item

This elegant neoclassical marble bust represents Artemis, also known as Diana, goddess of the moon, chastity and the hunt. Depicted with serene expression, classical hairstyle with bandeau, and finely draped garment, she reflects the idealized beauty and purity characteristic of late 19th- to early 20th-century academic sculpture. The bust is made of fine white marble and mounted on a polished black marble base. The underside retains the original stamped medallion of Hofkunst-Anstalt Kochendörfer, Munich, indicating provenance and high artistic quality from an official Royal Court Art Institution. In good original condition, with light age-related traces and a beautiful old patina. The photos provide an accurate impression of the condition and form an integral part of the description. No restorations. Dimensions: Height: 17.5 cm (6.9 in) Width: 17.5 cm (6.9 in) Depth: 10 cm (3.9 in) A refined and classical piece, rich in presence, ideal for both antique interiors and elegant eclectic settings.
