About the Item

An elegant and high quality French 19th century patinated Bronze and Oak bust signed Cesar Ceribelli, Paris. This charming statue of a young Gypsy girl is raised on a square Oak base with cut corners and mottled edges. Above is the stunning bust of a young woman wearing a pleated blouse and intricately details headscarf. She is adorned with medallions and wears a richly detailed necklace with a scarab at the center. All original rich and warm patina throughout. César Ceribelli (1841–1918) was a distinguished French bronze founder and manufacturer active in Paris during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best known for producing high-quality bronze castings of decorative art and sculpture during the peak of the Belle Époque and Art Nouveau periods.
