About the Item
Grand Tour French, patinated bronze bust of the Greek hero/mythological warrior Ajax (Menelaus) on a socle base, circa 1880. Ajax wears a helmet with battling centaurs in relief and eagles with serpent's tails on the face/visor. Ajax was the son of Telamon, who was the son of Aeacus, and grandson of the Greek God Zeus.
